Erin Gillespie: Following Her Parents' Example

I began going to Catalyst because my mom was working out in a class and she asked me to try it.  Then in the summer of 2010 I signed up for a summer hockey dryland camp with players from my Wildcat girls hockey team.  Mike Watson was our coach that year and he made the workouts hard but fun.  I did the camp again in 2011 & 2012.  I really enjoyed what we were doing so after the camps I continued coming to the park with my mom & dad.
My goal in working out at the park and doing Crossfit is to out lift my mom and SFM (my aunt)!  I attended Barbell Betty’s 1 in the spring and am in Barbel Betty’s 2 now learning proper technique of Olympic lifts.  Charity has been a great coach!!  I am also working on gaining strength because I want to pull a truck.

I plan on competing this year at the Catalyst Games in the Varsity division, I think it will be a great experience.
My favorite Crossfit memory is when Mike Watson tried to kill me by making us do ‘Death by 10 meters’!  I made it to 14 and would like to improve on that score.
