In The Primal Blueprint, Mark Sisson mentions a quote from another personal favourite book, "Guns, Germs, and Steel" by Jared Diamond. The quote: grains are "possibly the worst mistake in the history of the human race." Sisson is talking about inflammation and insulin; Diamond was trying to explain why grain-dependent cultures, like the Aztec, were eventually overrun and demolished by protein-dominant ones, like the Conquistadors.
