…for time.
Fantastic time with the Tuesday night group. Thanks for letting me in, girls (and letting me back out alive!) We had a little time to talk about 'systemic' vs. 'local' fatigue. I'll try to get an article up today, but in general, consider this: as a gym family, we're getting pretty good at METCON work at different time domains. Box jumps / push press / run? On it.
Where we struggle: multiple "localized" movements in a row. Take three movements involving elbow extension – ring dips, HSPU, and pushups – and it's a different story. The rapid accumulation of waste in one small area is harder to buffer, in the short term, and it leaves our athletes standing still mid-WOD. We're working on that. You'll notice that at least one element of our daily METCON work involves a movement similar to the strength portion. As we get closer to the Games, you'll see multiple movements requiring action from the same joint. Get ready.
