Yesterday was the last day for the No Pain/No Grain Challenge.Today at 9am: rowing for speed, with Ray Gowlett. Get faster on the rower over 500m or 2000m. A very important message for those competing in the Open, the Central Algoma race (March 1) or just to get better. It’s FREE for No Pain/No Grain participants, but open to anyone with an unlimited membership or punch card. We’ll have a regular CrossFit WOD at noon.
It was a fantastic month. Together, we rowed 5,368,076m. Out of 338 teams, we finished 28th. Do you know how amazing that is? Jen Watling did 302,000m ALONE, and none of us will forget Aryanna’s incredible 7-day sprint to 100k, Deb’s accidental half-marathon, or Kat’s back-to-back halfs. Wild.

It’s been an incredible month. Even though the rail on a Concept2 erg is only 3′ long, it was very moving to see everyone’s consistency and joy. Many timed their rows to meet others, and chatted away–sometimes for hours–with friends old and new. The true measure of a friend may be, “would I row a half-marathon with this person?”
In February, I have three challenges for you. None will last all month; all will be dropped on you at the last minute. Enjoy them: they’re not meant to add pressure or anxiety to your life, but to inspire you. You’ll get the first on Monday.
