King2 Tabata "Bottom to Bottom" Squat
Run 1 mile

Clock starts for run on rising from last squat.

The Tabata Bottom to Bottom Squat is a Tabata Squat but each rep begins at the bottom and ends at the bottom. The turn around at the top is immediate – no pause. The ten-second rest for each interval is also held at the bottom of the squat as opposed to the top. Interestingly, this squat, in contrast to the "normal" Tabata squat, motivates full hip extension. Also, the ten second rests don't seem as short with this protocol!

Post Tabata score and mile time to comments.

Twenty-one months ago, a stranger walked into the Park.

"Hi," she beamed. "I called the other day about CrossFit?"

There wasn't a group scheduled, but the gym was empty. I invited her to try half-Michael, rowing. She did. I didn't hear from her for a few more weeks; then she showed up with her buddy to do the one-day "Intro To CrossFit Bootcamp" that we offered on Saturdays.  Most participants in that 'Boot Camp' didn't come back (it was just waaaaay too much for most people.) She did.

She's been our Paleo expert; our nurse; our fan; our fan favourite. Lately, she's been a wonder on one foot. And now, she's among those who can do a pullup. Congratulations, Kathleen! Hard-won.
