In 2009, we opened the Park for full hours on Boxing Day. Two guys showed up-Eric and Ray-and we hit “Murph” on treadmills. Eric puked. Ray went sub-30. Everyone else did ‘Murph’ in March like honest people should.
In 2010, a couple of others showed up. Then more, and now we open only for two hours on Boxing Day.
Some skip “Murph.” They would prefer a ‘lifting day’ or a day to detox after all.that.pie. Don’t. You might not PR your “Murph” time today, but there’s no better time to improve your fitness than when you have to scrape off the pine needles and crumbs, sober up and get back to reality. Every squat goes a long way today.
Want to partner up? No problem. Partners run both miles together, and share the reps. Make it a team of three, even. See you at 10am!
