What a great time yesterday at Turn The Tide! Steph (above, smiling) was 'colour guard' for Team Canada, who won the Spirit award!  Revolutions abounded; in the end, the penstock valve was opened in 545 revolutions.

After a warmup of 50-70 revolutions, and before the last 100 revolutions done as a giant team, we managed to  nearly open the valve in twenty minutes.  In fact, Team #3 had to turn counterclockwise.  This is a six-hour job, folks….unless you're ridiculously fit. Then, it less than 30 minutes.

The Green Mules – Philsy, Ed and Josh, RichandNancy (one word,) and Carolle set a precise pace to finish with 91 reps. Only Ray's ingenuity had the Down-The-Liners in front with 129 reps…and that, too, was soon topped: Troy (who doesn't want to see this guy get a medal?), Jo Ann, newish CrossFitters Deb Love and Patty Desjardins, and Chris Stone, who filled in for a missing City Councilor.

In the end, the gold went to…well, the Family. An amazingly fast start by members of the Superior Heights Football team (now with more Karl!) started to drag halfway, as players collapsed and refused to take their turn at the wheel. Jumping to their aid, the Catalyst Family pushed them into first with 138 total reps in 10 minutes. Great work, eveyone – Parks Canada staff presented Coop with a medal to share with all the members as a tribute to our amazing teamwork.  Wanna repay some of their excellent work – including the chef, the setup crew, the Kids' contests, the awards, the t-shirts…..? Add Manon on facebook so she can see the Catalyst aftermath!
