In 2004, Mike and I met while at a previous employer. Mike was fresh from a career as a snowboarding guide/ostrich rider, and was a quick favourite with clients. There are lots of pictures online of Mike and I training at that tiny little gym, but he's famous for the red Running Group T-shirts (How's My Running?)
In 2005, when I had to move on or wither away, Mike only waited a week before jumping ship and coming with me. He shared the massive risk, and now, as Head Trainer, Mike still pulls down 70-hour workweeks. He's usually the first to arrive and the last to leave our Queen St. location. Mike, I'm grateful.
