Events 9 and 10 presented an opportunity for the Black Sheep to overtake the Adrenaline Junkies. With only two points between them and only four teams remaining, the Sheep would virtually have to win both events to take the title; the Junkies would have to finish third in at least one of the two events.
It didn’t happen, but it was close.
In the sprint relay, the Junkies were confused about their order of relay, and several had to run 400m heats until it was sorted out. Meanwhile, the Mules and Deadlifts pulled ahead of both top teams, and moved up the leaderboard. In the end, the Junkies managed to pull ahead of the Sheep at the very last minute, spoiling the opportunity to capitalize.
The Sheep came out hard in the snatch ladder, pacing along with the leaders until the 7s. Timing transitions tightly, they managed to finish a full minute ahead of anyone else, but the Junkies knew they’d have to finish second or third to keep their overall lead, and did so.
It’s been an excellent season with some very exciting races! Thanks to everyone who participated, and congrats to the Adrenaline Junkies! Special gifts coming your way!
