Barbell Bettys – The Next Level!

Maryann We meet new women every day.  We get to interact with a huge spectrum, and while no two women are ever alike, they've always seemed to have one thing in common: on the first day, they all say, "I'm not competitive."

Sure you're not.  That's what we say, every time.  Then we grin.

Women are the more competitive sex. It's true in nature; it's true in our post-Victorian social strata.  A female will throw herself in front of the charging rhino, dig in, and not let go until one or the other is dead.  A guy will butt heads and then offer to the show the rhino his new barbeque.

CrossFit draws it out of you.  It's the big grey rhino, charging headlong at your weakness.  Hardened by tough group challenges, tempered by Barbell Bettys' Mantra ("I am strong, I am beautiful…") and tested by the Games, we've got a new batch of women eager to measure themselves against a heavy barbell. 

Announcing Barbell Bettys Level III: Competitive. You'll train for 6 weeks in the basic 5 lifts: deads, squats, presses (bench, this time!), cleans, and snatches.  You'll compete in the November 6 Virtualmeet with all the other Helsinki Helgas, Deutschland Donnas, and Sydney Sallys from around the world.  You'll prepare; you'll perform; you'll prevail.

Barbell Bettys Level 1 will also start that week, with emphasis on the core lifts necessary for strength as a woman.  Learn technique from the ground up; choose a non-barbell technique (kipping? skipping? tire-flipping?) as a side.  Join the legendary Bettys!
